ELPCSG Welcomes You

Hope Is Where the Heart Is Save A Dad

ELPCSG at a Glance

ELPCSG knows that our strength lies not only in the words we stand by, but most importantly through the actions of our initiatives. Back in 2010, our Volunteer Group realized that by working together we could overcome our challenges much more efficiently, and that is why we ultimately decided to launch ELPCSG.
We are purely a personal support group and do not provide medical advice.   Please contact your GP, local hospital or other health agency for medical advice - AND please get in-touch with us for friendly support - we wish you well

What We Do

We are a group of local people who know about prostate cancer.  We are a friendly organisation dedicated to offering support to men who have had or who are experiencing the effects of this potentially life threatening disease.
The East Lanc’s Prostate Cancer Support Group offers a place for free exchange of information and help for local men and their supporters (family and friends) who may be affected by this increasingly common form of male cancer.
At each meeting we strive to be a happy, supportive and upbeat group of people; encouraging open discussion on what can be a very difficult and perhaps for some an embarrassing subject.  We have lively, informative, interactive, sharing and above all supportive meetings.

With our organization’s mission always in mind, we strive to find new strategies for dealing with this challenge. Mentoring is something that we take very seriously, and our team is working each and every day to make a positive impact. Contact us to learn more about our commitment to this cause.

Fundraising Opportunities

At ELPCSG, we are dedicated to stepping up our efforts in addressing this issue. Fundraising Events are Undertaken in conjunction with Prostate Cancer UK & the Barry Kilby Prostate Cancer Appeal. We are always striving to make a difference, and invite you to learn more and lend your support.

Volunteer Opportunities

With this initiative, our goal is to promote great opportunities for those in need. With access to the right resources, people can become empowered by their own abilities and gain the confidence to fulfill their potential. Learn more about our work by getting in touch with our team today.

Lancashire County Council  Wellbeing & Employment Service

Your Health & Wellbeing

Cancer and work

We offer advice to people affected by cancer to promote independence and to build self-esteem. Where required we will support cancer patients to return to work and also retain employment. This is supported by fully trained and experienced employment officers, throughout Lancashire and South Cumbria.

Cancer related patients may see work as providing some normality during a difficult time, or work may be a financial necessity. Sometimes people with cancer who wish to return to work struggle to do so, because of a lack of up to date knowledge from health professionals and employers. We can offer advice on how to access to holistic services in order to support ongoing wellbeing.

We can offer:

Support in work - advice on employment rights, workplace issues and return to work plans.

Support finding work - we can discuss your options to suit your abilities and interests including retraining if appropriate.

To access our service you can self-refer or a healthcare professional can make a referral (for example your GP, consultant, nurse, or charitable organisations offering cancer support).
